Dear Players and Parents,
We are thrilled to welcome you to the upcoming U12AA UOV Aces AA season.
My name is Rick Crout, and I am excited to be your Coach. I bring a wealth of
coaching experience, and firmly believe in a coaching philosophy that
emphasizes skill/player development, character building, teamwork, and fun. We
are looking forward to a very competitive season built around player
development and creating the best environment for our players.
On behalf of the UOV Aces AA Hockey Association, we would like to welcome all
2014 birth year players trying out and wish you the best of luck in the tryout
process. Updated and detailed information related to tryouts will be posted in the coming weeks.
Our intention for the upcoming season is to create a program that is both highly competitive and fun, built
around player development and progress towards competing at the next level possible, while preparing players
for their future hockey years. We understand the commitment required to reach the next level and our season
will focus a lot on developing towards it. The goal is not only success on the ice, but also personal growth off
the ice.
Key Points for the Season and Tryouts:
1. Tryouts: Expect a highly competitive tryout process. We encourage all players to give their best effort
and compete for a team spot. We are seeking players who demonstrate a strong hockey IQ, drive, and
work ethic, with an emphasis on puck movement, a high compete level both on and off the ice, and
excellent teamwork skills.
2. Commitment: Players and parents should anticipate 3-5 sessions per week, which will include games,
practices, video analysis, and team training sessions.
3. Team Environment: We will cultivate a culture of hard work, teamwork, and respect for the game. Our
aim is to provide a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where players enjoy their time at the rink. We
are committed to providing the necessary coaching and guidance to ensure all players dedicate
themselves to improving and achieving both individual and team goals. We expect players to
consistently demonstrate focus, drive, a positive attitude, good sportsmanship, and respect as
competitive athletes.
4. Community Involvement: We will actively participate in community give-back initiatives through player
involvement and community programs. These activities will foster team building and acknowledge the
communities we represent.
We ask that parents prioritize team events over other activities, as attendance at all team events is mandatory.
We look forward to meeting each of you at the rink. If you have any questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.
