My name is Kris Heideman and I
will be the coach for the upcoming Aces U12 hockey season. I am excited about
the opportunity to coach once again at the AA level. I take pride in being
prepared for practices and games and will expect the same level of commitment
from the players.
I have an extensive hockey background, having played Jr A and 4 years of CIS at StFX University and was fortunate to have some great coaches along the way. I look forward to taking what I learned from them along with my 9 years of coaching minor hockey, including 2 years with the 2007 age Aces, to create a rewarding and fun year of hockey for the players.
A goal of mine every year is to ensure players enjoy and look forward to coming to practices. I take practices very seriously and they will form the foundation for the commitment, work ethic and intensity that will carry over into our games. They will be high tempo and engaging for all players. Ensuring that development for each individual player is maximized over the course of the year is very important at this age and the Aces program provides a great opportunity to achieve this.
I strive all the time to achieve the balance between ensuring the kids appreciate the importance, privilege and commitment from parents required for them to play at the AA level while at the same time making sure the game remains fun and that expectations are kept in perspective. This year will be a positive experience for players and parents.
We are looking to ice a competitive team. From what I have seen watching spring hockey and the rep league last year there is no doubt this can be accomplished. It starts with ensuring the best 2011 born players in the Valley are at tryouts.
